My love of fitness began when I was about 16 years old. Dad was a runner, so I decided to join him on the road and I discovered a passion that still continues.
At 23, I started studying fitness, and also found out I was pregnant with my first child. I decided to focus on my family, and in 5 years had three beautiful girls. I resumed my career and continued my studies but struggled to find the work/life balance I craved. After some soul searching, I decided to set up my own Personal Training Studio at home. It was a perfect solution for me, and allowed me the flexibility to do the work I loved, and still be at the important events in my children’s lives, such as sports carnivals and school plays.
Life has a way of throwing your curve balls just when you think you have it all worked out, and you either sink or swim. My challenges have included a sick child, divorce, death of my beautiful mother and from my home to a another country.
One of my favorite sayings is “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”, and these experiences in my life taught me a lot. Throughout my journey i managed to keep my “ideal” life vision strong and am now married to a wonderful man who is my soul mate. I have watched my three girls grow into amazing women. I have learnt to adapt to new environments, make new friends, discover and respect new cultures and support a family struggling to fit into a whole new world.
One of the constants throughout my life journey has been my passion for exercise and a healthy lifestyle. My focus on health and fitness kept my body strong and my mind clear.
I entered in a few fun runs when we lived in Australia and got up to the half marathon distance. When we moved overseas I took my running to a new level and ran my first marathon. The passion was ignited and I continued to lift the bar and push myself further. I have now taken part in four ultra marathons (coming second in one), four marathons and numerous trail races around Hong Kong. I am an ardent believer in the power of exercise and the benefits you receive from leading an active, healthy lifestyle at any age. I am coming up to 50 and feel I am only just realizing my full potential.
I furthered my studies when we moved overseas and became a qualified Accredited Life Coach through the International Coaching Academy and a Master Practitioner in NLP and Timeline Therapy.
